WARP AND WEFT 1
Delapre Abbey, Northampton, 2006
A series of sculptural actions and installations in the walled gardens of Delapre Abbey. An examination of the use of domestic bindings such as threads, yarns, knitting needles and wool used to pierce, weave, sew and bind into the fabric of the landscape. This work came about through an interest the use of site and the “the fabric” of the land to enable drawing and sculpting as a physical act. The durational nature of the work examines the performative quality of weaving and sewing and the time based change of the walled garden.
